Locking
Original post: https://sourceforge.net/p/passwordsafe/discussion/134800/thread/963597ce78/?limit=25#8218
I noticed, that the classic safe locks the file (is on an SMB share) like windows does resp. recognizes locks, parallel instances in windows have. The Huvisoft version does not complain about them. Is there no locking at all or is it implemented in a different way?

Good question, this is also discussed in this post.
In short, pwSafe uses locking as provided by the macOS/iOS platform. This works best across Apple platforms but does not cooperate with the locking as performed by Password Safe.
Note: pwSafe will detect when any changes are made to the safe outside pwSafe and update/merge the changes to prevent data loss.
This might be improved in the future, though it is not clear yet if it is possible to adhere to both locking schemes at the same time.
In the meantime, if you use both platforms, you can also try installing iCloud support on your Windows devices and move your safe(s) there.
Also, do read the post linked above on the creation of backup files. The way Password Safe creates backup files make it hard to keep references to safes on macOS, so that is also something you'd likely want to address.
Any ideas or suggestions on this topic are more than welcome!
