If you use pwSafe on iPhone together with Password Safe for Windows, you may notice that changes made on your iPhone do not immediately appear on your PC even though the safe file is syncing correctly.
This is expected behavior on Windows. Password Safe for Windows does not automatically reload an open safe when the underlying .psafe3 file is updated by iCloud or another sync service.
What to do
- After making changes on your iPhone, close the safe on your Windows PC.
- Reopen the safe to load the latest version from the synced file.
If you still do not see the changes, make sure Password Safe is fully closed first. On Windows, the app may remain running in the system tray even after the main window is closed, so you may need to exit it completely and then open the safe again.
Why this happens
pwSafe on iPhone automatically reloads a safe when it detects that the file changed. Password Safe for Windows does not do this, so reopening the safe is required to pick up edits made on another device.
When this is useful
This applies when your safe is stored in a synced location such as iCloud Drive and you edit it on your iPhone, then want to view the updated entries on Windows.
