For obvious security reasons, pwSafe will automatically lock your safe when being idle, requiring you to unlock your safe to regain access to the contents of the safe.
The Auto-Lock Interval, i.e. the default time-interval after which pwSafe will consider the safe idle, is 5 minutes by default. You can configure the Auto-Lock Interval for each safe individually:
macOS
- Unlock your safe
- Select the "Safe Settingsā¦" menu item from the Safe menu
- On the General tab, set the Auto-Lock Interval to the desired value
iOS
- Unlock your safe
- Tap the gear icon at the bottom of the screen to open the Safe Settings
- Set the Auto-Lock Interval to the desired value
After the configured interval expires, your safe will automatically be locked by pwSafe.
Note that your safe will also be locked when pwSafe is terminated. Especially on iOS this can occur prematurely if iOS reclaims the resources used by pwSafe. Consider subscribing to the pwSafe Cloud to solve this securely.
