The Shortcuts app on iOS allows you to automate actions on your device. In this article, we'll walk you through creating a shortcut that:
- Selects an external safe.
- Stores that safe in a variable.
- Opens the safe.
This is perfect for quickly accessing an external safe without navigating through folders manually.
Step 1: Select a Safe
- Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the + button in the top-right corner to create a new shortcut.
- Tap Add Action.
- In the search bar, type File and select it.
- Tap the added action and select your external safe.
Step 2: Store the File in a Variable
- Tap Add Action again.
- In the search bar, type Set Variable and select it.
- Tap Variable Name and enter a name, such as "MySafe".
Step 3: Open the Safe
- Tap Add Action once more.
- In the search bar, type Open File and select it.
- Tap Default App and select pwSafe.
- Now, when you run the shortcut, it will open your safe automatically.
Finalizing Your Shortcut
- Rename Your Shortcut: Tap the name at the top and enter something like "Open My Safe". You can also change the icon into e.g. a key symbol.
- Add to Home Screen: Tap the Share button and select Add to Home Screen for quick access.
- Run the Shortcut: Tap the Play button to test it.
Now, whenever you run this shortcut, you’ll quickly select and open your safe without navigating manually.
