By default, pwSafe will ask Full Access to your Dropbox account when you Link pwSafe to Dropbox. This enables you to add all your safes stored in Dropbox, irrespective of the location where the safe is stored in your Dropbox account.
If you don't want to grant Full Access rights to pwSafe, you can restrict pwSafe's access to just a single folder inside your Dropbox account, leveraging the "App Folder" access type of Dropbox.
Make sure you are using at least version 10.1.9 of pwSafe, before following these steps:
- If the pwSafe app is currently linked to Dropbox, unlink it by opening Settings (the gear icon top left) and selecting "Unlink from Dropbox"
- In Settings, enable the "Restrict to App Folder" option
- Link pwSafe to Dropbox by selecting "Link to Dropbox". The usual authorization flow will start, this time requesting access to the pwSafe application folder only.
After these steps, pwSafe will only have access to files and folders stored inside the /Apps/pwSafe folder of your Dropbox account.
- Newly created safes will be stored inside that folder.
- If you have any existing safes in your Dropbox account, make sure to move them to the /Apps/pwSafe folder (or any subfolder) before using "Link to Existing Dropbox Safe" to access your safe from the pwSafe app.
