First, you'll need Password Safe for Windows.
Then install Apple's iCloud Windows app and enable iCloud Drive.
If you already have a safe on your PC, move it to the pwSafe subfolder in your iCloud Drive folder. If you wish to open a safe you already have on pwSafe for iOS or Mac, then open the Password Safe app and browse for your safe inside the pwSafe subfolder in your iCloud Drive folder.
Resolving Sync Issues
If the pwSafe folder in iCloud Drive on Windows does not sync correctly, you may be able to resolve the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the iCloud for Windows application.
- Do not rename the iCloud folder with the internal name (e.g.
F2XAAD6WWR~com~app77~pwsafe); this may disrupt sync. - If toggling iCloud Drive OFF/ON, using Repair, or changing background permissions does not resolve the issue, proceed with a full uninstall and reinstall of iCloud for Windows.
- Upon reinstall, the internal folder name may automatically change to the expected display name (e.g.
pwSafe), restoring proper sync functionality.
If issues persist after reinstall, consider testing with a new Windows account to rule out profile-specific corruption.
Pending Sync Status
If the sync is in pending status, you need to log back into your Apple account to restart the sync of your safe. This has been reported on Windows 11.
